Brittni and Kyle hosted a large-scale Fall wedding at PINE in Charlotte on Friday, October 10, 2025, welcoming 180 guests for a celebration designed around guest experience, cultural representation, and high-energy entertainment. The goal was clear from the start: create a wedding that felt relaxed, interactive, and intentional — without sacrificing flow, design, or logistics.
As New Yorkers who value shared experiences over rigid tradition, the couple focused on how guests would move through the space, interact with one another, and stay engaged from ceremony through the final song. PINE’s flexible layout and industrial aesthetic made it an ideal venue to support that vision.

Planning Their Guest-Focused Wedding at PINE
Partial Planning with 828
Brittni and Kyle hired 828 Planning for partial planning, while remaining actively involved in creative and decision-making aspects. The couple relied on our Charlotte planning team for structure and execution.

828 Planning supported:
Vendor coordination
Floor plans and layouts
Timeline development
Logistics and flow
Full day-of execution, including décor setup
The couple prioritized staying involved throughout the planning process but wanted to be fully present on the wedding day itself. Handing off execution allowed them to enjoy the day without managing transitions, vendor communication, or setup logistics.

Design Direction: Boho-Industrial with Fall Texture
The design leaned into a boho-industrial aesthetic anchored by a Fall color palette of burnt orange, champagne, and olive. Brittni gravitated toward greenery and organic textures, which guided the overall styling approach.
Rather than relying on rentals or heavy florals, the couple opted for a DIY-focused design, incorporating:
Faux and silk florals
Dried floral accents
Floating candles
Table runners and layered tabletop details
A personalized scrapbook-style display wall

These elements were intentionally paired with PINE’s in-house tables and chairs, along with hedge walls and a champagne wall, to define ceremony and reception areas without overwhelming the space.
A key visual anchor was PINE’s newly painted blue wall, which was used as the ceremony backdrop. Its clean, modern finish added contrast to the textured décor and created a strong focal point for both guests and photography.
The final result was elevated but approachable; styled without feeling overly formal.

Maximizing Guest Flow with PINE’s Layout
PINE’s multi-level layout played a critical role in maintaining momentum throughout the event.
Guests arrived on-site for the ceremony, which featured a structured processional, curated music, and live saxophone accompaniment. Cocktail hour took place upstairs on the mezzanine, while the main level underwent an in-house room flip. This transition minimized downtime, kept guests moving naturally through the venue, and allowed the reception space to be fully reset without disruption.
Throughout the evening, layout decisions prioritized: clear traffic flow, efficient bar and food access, and ample room for dancing and socializing.

Entertainment as a Core Experience Driver
Entertainment was treated as a primary planning pillar, not an afterthought.
A live saxophonist performed during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and key reception moments, creating continuity across the event and maintaining energy without abrupt transitions.
As dinner concluded, the reception focus shifted toward interactive entertainment, including:
Karaoke
Dance floor games
Curated music selections designed to keep guests engaged
This approach transformed the reception into a true late-night after-party, with guests actively participating until just before midnight.

Food, Beverage & Cultural Integration
Food and beverage choices were made with both efficiency and meaning in mind.
To accommodate a large guest count without long wait times, the couple selected buffet-style catering, prioritizing quality food and smooth service.
Britti’s Nigerian culture was intentionally incorporated in the food, and worked with our planning team and catering partners Tin Kitchen and Lagz Restaurant to include:
Traditional Nigerian dishes alongside the main menu
Palm wine (Nigerian wine) selected as a meaningful nod to her parents
A formal acknowledgment of these elements during dinner
Beverage service also included specialty cocktails and a champagne wall, which functioned as both a service feature and a design element within the space.

Personal Choices That Shaped the Day
Rather than leaning into traditional surprises or scripted moments, Brittni and Kyle focused on decisions that reflected their values and personalities.
Notable details included:
Kyle’s best woman, who wore a suit for a modern, confident, and intentional style
Candlelight throughout the venue, creating consistent warmth across both levels
An emphasis on shared guest experiences rather than formal traditions
Each choice supported the same overarching priority: guest comfort, participation, and connection.
By the end of the night, Brittni and Kyle were fully present; laughing, celebrating, and enjoying the event they had spent months planning. Post-wedding, they reflected on how smoothly everything came together.
