A Color-Soaked Charlotte Wedding at PINE | Haley & Ethan

December 28, 2025

Some weddings feel beautiful. Others feel deeply personal. Haley and Ethan’s wedding at PINE in Charlotte, North Carolina managed to be both — and then took it a step further with bold color, immersive design, and a floor plan transformation that left guests genuinely stunned.

Planned by the Charlotte team at 828 Planning, this Friday wedding was equal parts thoughtful, joyful, and impeccably organized — which makes sense, considering the bride is a project manager who came prepared with timelines, weekly updates, and even a presentation deck (table of contents included).

From a Hinge match to a technicolor celebration, here’s how Haley & Ethan brought their vision to life at one of the most versatile Charlotte wedding venues.

A Vision Full of Color, Personality, and Warmth

From the start, Haley and Ethan knew exactly how they wanted their wedding to feel: bright, welcoming, elegant, and fun — just like them. Rather than sticking to a tight palette, they leaned into every color under the sun, using vibrant hues across florals and décor accents.

The result was a space that felt energetic without being overwhelming, and elevated without feeling stuffy or too formal. PINE’s light, neutral interior served as the perfect blank canvas, allowing the bold colors to truly pop — especially against the soft backdrop of billowing white pipe and drape.

While a few small décor accents were DIY, the majority of the design was executed by 828 Planning and a lineup of truly epic vendors.

An Intimate Ceremony — and a Jaw-Dropping Room Flip at PINE

Haley & Ethan used PINE in a way we’d never seen before, starting with a ceremony that felt intimate, romantic, and immersive.

Utilizing PINE’s in-house pipe and drape, the team created a cozy ceremony space within the larger venue. Lush, flowing draping framed the altar, while real, living florals were suspended from the ceiling above — meticulously installed using PINE’s scissor lift. The florals not only looked stunning; they transformed the way the room felt the moment guests arrived.

Then came the surprise.

After the ceremony, the space was flipped: draping was repositioned to open up the space, and the venue revealed itself in an entirely new way. The hanging florals that hovered over the ceremony became the centerpiece of the dance floor, setting the stage for an unforgettable night.

Thoughtful Design in Every Corner of this Charlotte Wedding Venue

One of the standout elements of the day was how intentionally every inch of PINE’s Charlotte venue was used. The couple transformed the entryway nook into a design moment of its own and even decorated the mezzanine level, ensuring guests were surrounded by beauty at every turn.

As the night progressed, uplighting washed the walls in saturated color, shifting the mood from romantic to high-energy party. When it was time to dance, the venue felt alive; vibrant, immersive, and made for celebration.

Guest Experiences That Kept the Energy Flowing

Haley and Ethan were intentional about keeping guests engaged from start to finish — no awkward lulls, no waiting around.

Some of the biggest hits included:

  • A live watercolor artist, creating personalized keepsakes guests could take home

  • A retro photo booth that stayed busy all night

  • Dance floor props like flashing foam sticks and heart-shaped sunglasses

  • A grand exit that invited everyone to participate

Even the smaller details felt personal: table numbers paired with baby photos of the couple, custom matchbooks, and koozies featuring their dog, Winnie — who also stole the show walking down the aisle!

A Planner’s Dream Couple (Truly)

Working with Haley was an absolute joy. Her organized approach — complete with weekly check-ins and a beautifully structured presentation deck — made collaboration seamless. She was the definition of a thoughtful, Type A bride: prepared, communicative, and endlessly kind.

With 828 Planning’s partial planning support, the entire team stayed aligned, allowing the couple to focus on what mattered most: enjoying their people and their day.

A Friday Wedding Done Right in Charlotte

Choosing a Friday wedding in Charlotte gave Haley and Ethan something they valued deeply: time. With friends and family flying in, the extended weekend allowed for relaxed hangs, meaningful moments, and less pressure to rush through the celebration.

It was a reminder that non-traditional wedding days can offer big advantages — especially for couples prioritizing connection.
